Fab City Grand Paris is a local network of makers, designers, architects, urban farmers and innovators engaged in the rise of the circular and collaborative economy in the parisian urban area.
Paris and its region has both an incredibly dynamic scene of urban innovators and changemakers as well as a long tradition of local production and urban craftmanship. Together with a solid support of political institutions impulsing digital innovation and the makers movement, the city has an enormous potential to implement effectively the Fab City approach.
Fab City Grand Paris understand the 2018 event as the kick-off of the Fab City Prototypes in Paris, a series of local long-term initiatives in different urban areas that will shape the future of Paris as a productive city and one of the most engaged node of the Fab City network.
The Fab City Summit is an international gathering of experts and communities interested in circular economy, urban planning, digital fabrication, new business models, civic engagement and sustainable design and production. Held for the first time in Amsterdam in 2016 and then in Copenhagen in 2017, Paris will host the next edition in July 2018 at Parc de La Villette. For the first time the Summit will be part of the yearly international gathering of fablab (FAB14).
The informal network established as a non-profit association in 2017. The orgnisation promote and implement the Fab City mouvement and it and will be in charge of the organisation of the 2018 edition of the Fab City Summit in Paris.
